| My couture week odyssey ended with a path straight from JFK to my annual weekend in the Hamptons, featuring a delightfully rough Atlantic, requisite road rage—my own and others’—and a perfect pickled rye loaf from Carissa’s. This weekend, I’m going to see the actual Odyssey before taking a hero’s journey to MetLife Stadium for the World Cup final. |
Sing to me Muse
I’ve been looking forward to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey for months, in large part because I love a collective cultural experience (hear about others on this week’s summer culture pod) and Arthur is currently obsessed with Greek myths (it’s contagious; I’m now reading Madeline Miller’s Circe). I am going Friday night in Connecticut and can’t wait. We’ve been tracking the robust and star-studded press tour, from Anne Hathaway’s diaphanous pregnancy style (though I sort of hoped she would method-dress a bit with something made on a loom, à la Penelope) to Lupita’s gilded sheaths. We also looked at how The Odyssey’s filming locations double as an epic travel guide. |

We’re All Winners
Despite not historically caring much about the actual game of soccer, I will be very sad when the World Cup is over. It has been such a delight, from Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham’s off-pitch friendship to Erling’s Dolce bag and taxidermied raccoon souvenir when he touched down in Oslo. (He later showed up at the Alta Moda show in Sicily.) In advance of Sunday’s final—which I am so excited to be going to—Arthur and I went to see the gigantic Jules Rimet Trophy made entirely out of Legos at Rockefeller Center, where the Norway spruce typically stands. We also had our editors style soccer jerseys in three different ways. |
Hot to Trot
As the temperatures approached the triple digits in Manhattan this week, we sent Michaella Jelin to document uptown vs. downtown heatwave style. I loved seeing how the mature ladies on the Upper East Side accessorized their midsummer ensembles. |
Amagansett Jam
The Hamptons are such a beautiful nook of the world, but I find that now when I go I get a bit overwhelmed by the roar and swell of it all—and I don’t mean the ocean! We went to stay with my sister for our annual Hamptons weekend and it was perfect; we spent time with friends and family we don’t see often and met a very important new baby. And while East Hampton was just overrun with angry people in the parking lot, I really enjoyed lingering on Main Street in Amagansett—especially at the tiny new bookstore Sea Dragon Books and Jamagansett, with its now-infamous $80 blueberry pie. |

Gotham Food Pantry
On Monday night, a group of Vogue and Teen Vogue staffers joined the team at Gotham Food Pantry to unload and distribute 18,000 pounds of rescued food. We loved seeing the work Gotham does, especially at a time when roughly one in seven New Yorkers is food insecure. We started working with Gotham around the Met Gala, when we donated unused food from some of our spring events. This week, our staffers rolled up their sleeves and took the dress code to heart: comfortable clothing you could lift up to 25 pounds in, hair out of your face, and closed-toe shoes. (This meant a lot of bandanas and Tabis.) |

Kors Cares
On Wednesday evening, I braved the thunderstorms and Canadian wildfire smoke to join Michael Kors and Ben Garcia, executive director of the soon-to-open American LGBTQ+ Museum, at Michael’s store on Madison Avenue. He spoke so poignantly about his experience as a gay man growing up in the fashion community, and it feels shocking that there hasn’t been a dedicated space to celebrate LGBTQ+ history in New York City. The first exhibition at the museum—meant to open in 2028—will be curated by Hilton Als and focus on the history of ballroom. |
Charmed, I’m Sure
Something about the heat seems to make people much more open to fun jewelry between Memorial Day and Labor Day. I always experiment with bigger, livelier jewelry in the summer myself, leaning into costume and more sculptural statement pieces—and, of course, shells and stones. (Last summer, I asked my friend Rickie if I was too old to be wearing a cord choker with a stone on it. “You can do it in the summer, but not otherwise!” she replied.) I took Alice to make a bracelet at Roxanne Assoulin’s pop-up over the weekend, and while I left with a knotted cord bracelet featuring a chunky wooden bead, Alice loved her candy-like enamel heart charm. |
Lettuce Pray!
I need to learn more about this cyclosporiasis outbreak, but it’s certainly freaked the mom chats out. (You don’t have to tell me to eat fewer vegetables twice…but I am sad about berries!) Here’s your guide to washing fruits and vegetables properly…but when in doubt, just eat a cookie. |
Knit Picking
I loathe the tyranny of ice-box air conditioning in the summer and feel I am perpetually stuffing a sweater into my bag or knotting one around my shoulders. Fortunately, Vogue Shopping did a comprehensive edit of the best office sweaters. My picks are Attersee’s Whisper cardigan or Elle and Riley’s trompe l’oeil sweater scarf. |
