When I started noticing thinning around my hairline, I nearly had a panic attack. After a few deep breaths and some questionable Google searches (Mayo Clinic hates to see me coming), I came back down to Earth. Fortunately, I caught the thinning early, and nowadays, there are a plethora of at-home treatments to help with hair density, fullness, and ultimately, growth.
Right now, my growth regimen centers around scalp care. I swear by Act+Acre’s scalp detox oil ahead of each wash day to remove buildup, and a scalp serum each and every day. Cécred, Highbrow Hippie, and Vegamour are in my current rotation. Soon, I plan on finally trying red light therapy for hair growth (I’m thinking of the Currentbody helmet), and a minoxidil foam given its expert-backing. If you’re on a similar hair growth journey, we’re in this together.
It’s true that scalp serums get messy quite quickly, especially if you’re heavy-handed with a dropper like me. Dr. Groot’s, however, rolls on with a soothing, cooling ball applicator—which also doubles as an excellent massager (another perk for stimulating blood flow to the scalp). Plus, the blend of AHAs helps keep oily roots at bay.
