01 · Opava offers 11 building plots in Stromovka

On 8 October, the Czech city announced a second application round. Applications close on 30 October 2026. The price is CZK 4,200 per square metre including VAT. Individuals may apply; companies may not. Conditions include a CZK 100,000 deposit and obligations relating to construction and residence.

02 · Careers meet local employers

Opava’s careers fair takes place at Hala Opava on 14 and 15 October, presenting more than 100 fields and professions alongside practical workshops and career advice. Opening hours: Wednesday 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; Thursday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. The city’s announcement was updated on 8 October.

03 · Europe today: finance ministers in Luxembourg

The EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council, ECOFIN, is scheduled to meet in Luxembourg on 9 October. This is a calendar item, not a report of meeting outcomes. Conclusions should be checked when officially published.

04 · Apple and The King’s Trust launch Creative Labs

Announced on 7 October, the London initiative aims to give an initial cohort of up to 20 people aged 18–30 experience in creative fields through workshops and Apple technology. Initial activities are connected with Apple Music Hall at Battersea Power Station.
