Krakow’s city website, citing regional police, reports six deaths and more than ten people injured in Saturday’s shooting in the city centre. Police shot and detained the suspect. The municipal notice places the start shortly after 3 p.m. near Sławkowska Street and the Main Market Square. City statement, updated November 7.
The city asks people to keep away from response areas, follow police and rescuers’ instructions and call 112 in danger. A crisis team is working at City Hall. Detaining a suspect does not itself establish that every affected street has reopened.
What remains unresolved: the final casualty count, circumstances and motive. An earlier version of the municipal notice reported five deaths; the latest check showed six. OPC attributes this figure to the city’s account of police information. We are not reporting from the scene and have no independent medical confirmation.
OPC editorial approach: read developing reports with their check time and direct source. Counts from different updates must not be added together. We draw no conclusion about the attacker’s identity or motive. Editorial charter.
