Olvera Street’s Día de los Muertos puts remembrance at the center
Community altars, nightly processions and a 6 p.m. performance run through November 2.
Olvera Street’s Día de los Muertos festival continues from October 25 through November 2. The merchant-organized celebration combines community altars with nightly processions and performances honoring people who have died.
Build the evening around the performance
The published program lists Teatro del Barrio’s La Danza de la Muerte at 6 p.m. during the festival. The 2026 flyer gives festival hours of 10 a.m.–9 p.m.; individual activities have their own schedules.
Not every activity has the same price
The festival is listed as free, but face painting is operated separately and carries a charge. Check the displayed price before participating. For visitors, the altars and ceremonies deserve time and respect: this is a community tradition, not simply a backdrop for Halloween photographs.
Use the organizer’s current flyer for the exact day you visit.
